PEAKS ISLAND – On Jan. 1 at 7 p.m., Sydney M. Rowe, daughter of Anthony and Donna Rowe of Rumford and Clinton J. Goni, son of Victor and Liz Goni of Wyoming were united in marriage.

Guests traveled with the couple by ferry to Peaks Island. Mary Jo Reed, notary public and lifelong friend of the bride, officiated at the ceremony, which began on the ferry with inspiring and heartfelt words. Upon arrival, all disembarked and the ceremony was completed on the pier. The New Year’s nor’easter created a magical scene.

Dana and Jared Rowe, sister and brother-in-law of the bride, were attendants for the couple. Kortnee Hill, cousin of the bride, presented the rings. There were three special canine guests, Buddy, Sarah and Baxter.

A wedding toast was held on the return ferry trip. An intimate reception was enjoyed overlooking Casco Bay at RiRa’s in Portland.

The couple traveled to New York City on their return to Buffalo, Wyo., where they make their home.

The bride is employed at Northern Wyoming Mental Health Center and is pursuing a master’s degree in social work.

The bridegroom is employed in a family business, Powder River Fencing.
