Matt Ferland, a Dirigo High School skateboarder and part-time Rumford Parks Department employee, is shown with some sample skateboard deck plates that will be used to decorate the new skateboard park in May or June. The Parks Department is selling blank skateboard deck plates advertising space to help raise money for the park. The next Skateboard Park Committee meeting, which will serve as an organizational meeting, is set for 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 27 at the Parks Department office at Hosmer Field. All are welcome to attend. For more information, contact Tim Gallant at 364-7758.
