FARMINGTON – Wanted: would-be scallywags.

Insyt New Media, an award-winning interactive marketing company, is seeking actors to audition for roles in a national TV commercial for Buccaneer Blends, a new line of all-natural, premium barbecue and steak sauces.

The casting call will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 29, at Insyt New Media’s headquarters at 109 Church Street, Suite C., on the bottom floor of Church Street Commons. Callbacks will begin at 6 p.m.

Roles for the TV commercial include a husband, wife, child, supermarket maintenance worker and supermarket store clerk.

Professional acting experience is not required. The commercial will be shot at a later date at a supermarket location in Maine.

Insyt New Media President Peter Roberts said he hopes to cast local people in the lighthearted commercials. “There’s something special about using local talent. We’ve found it often lends an aura of authenticity and realism that we don’t always get with hired agency actors.”

“Plus,” Roberts pointed out, “Buccaneer Blends is a Maine-based company (they’re based in Auburn) and Insyt is a Maine-based company (we’re located in Farmington). We know there is a lot of talented people right in our own backyard and we’d love to be able to showcase Farmington-area people to a national audience. This will be a lot of fun.”
