As a parent of a local youth hockey player, I want to express how disappointed I was to get the Sun Journal every day and find too few articles regarding the Lion’s Tournament that was recently held at the Colisee.

The young players that participated during the week are the future of hockey. The Lion’s Tournament is the oldest tournament in Maine and the biggest of its kind in the Twin Cities. All of the attention is given to the Lewiston Maineiacs, which is great, as they are the future of the NHL.

But the hockey players who have participated in the past 36 Lion’s Tournaments deserve to be featured in the paper during the whole tournament, not just an article to mark the opening and closing ceremonies. Every Atom, Mini-Mite, Mite, Squirt, PeeWee, and Bantam player deserved to have articles about the previous day’s game in the paper for the week.

It is a shame that the Sun Journal didn’t invest more in that wonderful event.
