LEWISTON – The Franco-American Heritage Center and Bates College will present the third annual F.A.B. (Franco American Bates) Winter Dance Showcase Sunday, March 9, at the center.

This year, in addition to featuring both returning and new local and regional artists, F.A.B. will host four additional artists through the Dance USA Regional Dance Development Initiative.

The R.D.D.I. pilot project selected 10 dance artists from New England for a working laboratory, to mentor choreographers and to help make works accessible to multiple communities.

Participating local artists are Sasha Randall of Biddeford, back for her third FAB showcase; and Ann Dubensky of Portland, who will join the collective for her first showcase. Jump Cannon Collaborative from Bates College (Emma Arenstam, Alissa Horowitz and Marlee Weinberg) will make their first choreographic contribution to the production. Parakilas, Dilley & Eng (Jill Eng of Portland with Carol Dilley and pianist Jim Parakilas from Bates College) will complete the local collective of dance artists.

RDDI artists include Alissa Cardone of Somerville, Mass.; Bronwen McArthur of New Haven, Conn; Drika Oveton of Kittery/Portsmouth; and Adele Myers of New Haven, Conn.

The dance performance will begin at 2 p.m. Tickets are $12, $10 for students and senior citizens. For reservations, call 689-2000. The Franco-American Heritage Center is at 46 Cedar St. For more information, log on to francoamericanheritage.org.
