AUGUSTA (AP) – With deep snow on the ground, Central Maine Power is reminding customers to clear the way for its meter readers.
Utility officials said Monday that the series of storms this winter has made meter readers’ jobs harder than usual this winter.
CMP has 98 employees who read an average of more than 29,000 meters each work day.
CMP spokesman John Carroll said customers can check their electric bills to see what time of month their meters are read, and then clear a path to their meters when that date comes around.
