NEWRY – March at Sunday River Ski Resort will bring entertainment by way of rainforest reptiles, handmade marionettes and a performance artist known to juggle five ping-pong balls thrown 20 feet into the air, using only his mouth.

Saturday, March 8, iguanas, lizards, boa constrictors, American alligators and others in the Rainforest Reptile Show will crawl and slither around a show ring set up in the North and South ballrooms. A handler will be present to talk about reptiles, amphibians and the importance of preserving rainforests.

Tuesday, March 11, the world-famous National Marionette Theatre will return with a new production of “Peter and the Wolf.” The National Marionette Theatre is acclaimed for its production values and handmade marionettes. The classic tale with Sergei Prokofiev’s original music is appropriate for audiences of all ages.

Saturday, March 15, Mark Nizer, The Juggler Your Mother Warned You About, will take the stage with a combination of original comedy, juggling, movement, music and technology. As part of his act, Nizer has juggled laser beams at 1000 rpms, a burning propane tank, a running electric carving knife and a 16-pound bowling ball.

Showtime is 7 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom of the Grand Summit Resort Hotel, unless otherwise noted. Tickets are $6 for adults, $4 for children (6-12) in advance; $8/$6 at the door. Tickets may be purchased on the mountain or at Books N Things in Bethel. For more information, call 824-3500.
