AUBURN – Nancy Ray will present a program of Celtic music for the After Dark Club at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, at the Woman’s Literary Union, 19 Elm St.

It was five years ago that Ray, usually known as a housewife and mother of four, picked up her 30-year-old, Epiphone acoustic guitar and enveloped the music of her Celtic roots.

She credits her initial “spark” to the music of Schooner Fare, a well-known, New England trio who were popular during her youth while growing up in Portland.

Now living in northwestern Maine, she plays professionally in the Mt. Washington Valley area of Maine and New Hampshire, but she is also known to travel and perform throughout New England and annually in Ireland.
