FREEPORT – Some of the biggest names in the history of fishing – Lefty Kreh, Flip Pallot, Stu Apte, Mark Sosin and Dave and Emily Whitlock – will be at L.L. Bean Saturday and Sunday, March 15-16, for the outdoor company’s annual spring fishing expo.

They will participate in a Q&A panel discussion at 3 p.m. Saturday and at 1 p.m. Sunday. A meet-and-greet reception is planned for 6 p.m. Saturday. This is open to the public, and refreshments will be served.

In addition, the fishing celebrities will be available most of the weekend to sign their books and DVDs.

Celebrity fly tyers will be David Klausmeyer, Bob Popovics and Mike Martinek

Other weekend highlights include free fly-casting lessons, kids’ activities and a variety of demonstrations, clinics and seminars. Emily Jones of the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife will give a presentation on getting children involved in fishing.
