AARP speaker
LEWISTON – The AARP Androscoggin Chapter 4077 will meet at 1:15 p.m. Monday, March 17, in the seniors room at the Multi-Purpose Center. Auburn Mayor John Jenkins will speak on wellness. Refreshments will be served following the meeting.
VFW meeting
LEWISTON – The Longley-Dionne VFW Post 9150, VFW, will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, at the Multi-Purpose Center. All officers and members are encouraged to attend.
The agenda will include nomination of officer for 2008, Buddy Poppy sales, state convention and local veterans programs. Any legible veterans wishing to join the VFW may contact Armand Bussiere at 688-2291.
College program
LISBON FALLS – A free Making Your College Search Count presentation for the junior class and parents will be held from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 18, at Lisbon High School.
The program provides students with information on how to conduct an effective college search and selection. It is designed to help students begin thinking about which colleges would be right for them and what they need to do to apply.

Seniors to meet
AUBURN – The First Auburn Seniors will meet Wednesday, March 19, at the Hasty Community Center in Pettengill Park. The board of directors will meet at 10 a.m. and the regular meeting will be at 11.
Meal tickets will be on sale for the lasagna dinner on Wednesday, April 16, at a cost of $4. Members are reminded to bring their cups and utensils for the annual New England boiled dinner. Entertainment will be a musical program presented by Jon Biron and Ralph Lashua.
Bridge results
LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on March 11 were: first/second tie, Richard Allen and Pete Cummings with Jan Arey and Linda Leotsakos; third, Larry Fortier and Paul Sherman.
Winners at Schooner Estates in Auburn on March 12 were: first, Patricia Garcia and Jeanine Kivus; second, Les Buzzell and John Hackett; third, Claire Lyons and Mary Leahey; fourth, Sharron Hinckley and Sally Magee.
Games are played at 9 a.m. Monday and Tuesday and 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, and a partner is guaranteed. The games are open to all bridge players and new players are welcome. Call Rosemarie Goodwin at 754-1431 for information about all duplicate bridge games.
