Spring fair

PERU – Families in Crisis Task Force will hold its spring fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 15, at the Peru Grange Hall. There will be a food table, Chinese auction, white elephant table and basket raffle.

Musical program

CARTHAGE – The Carthage Historical Society will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, at the Carthage Town Office. Following a potluck supper, a musical program will be presented by Jody Kasregis of Roxbury and Bill Scott of Peru. All are invited.

Trail Blazers

MEXICO – The Mexico Trail Blazers will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday March 19, downstairs at the Mexico Town Hall. All are welcome. Those who would like to become a member to support the club may attend a meeting or call Nick Brown at 364-8665.

Class meeting

RUMFORD – The Class of 1946 of Stephens High School will meet at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, at Sam’s Italian Sandwich Shoppe.

Easter services

RUMFORD – St. Athanasius St. John’s Church will observe Holy Thursday, March 20, and Good Friday, March 21, at 7 p.m. Easter Vigil will be noted at 7:45 p.m. Saturday, March 22, and the Easter Sunday service will be 9:30 a.m.

Soloists and instrumentalists will be featured. Evan Belanger will be on trumpet and Carol Bennett on cello. The choir will enhance the celebration with a variety of new and familiar music. The choir will sing 20 minutes before the 9:30 Easter morning Mass and will repeat the music on at the 9:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday, March 30.

Benefit bingo

DIXFIELD – The Dirigo Athletic Boosters is sponsoring a basket bingo from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 29, at the American Legion. Tickets are $10 each and are available at Dirigo High School, Far East Restaurant in Mexico or by calling Barbara at 562-8989.

Film times

ANDOVER – The Best of America by Horseback will air the 2007 Maine grand tour film on RFD-TV beginning on Wednesday, March 19. The times have changed for March. The shows will be aired on Dish Network Channel 231 on Thursday, March 20, at 11:30 p.m.; Saturday, March 22, at 12:30 a.m.; and Thursday, March 27, at 1:30 p.m.

Hunt needs help

RUMFORD – The River Valley Easter Egg Hunt for children of the valley is in need of sponsors. Eggs are $10 and all proceeds are used to cover the cost of the radio spots and to fill the baskets.
