PORTLAND – Popular Irish singer Daniel O’Donnell will bring his blend of country music, inspirational ballads, 1960s pop and Irish standards to the Cumberland County Civic Center Tuesday, June 3.

He has been featured on seven nationally televised PBS specials in the United States, including 2007’s “Daniel O’Donnell Can You Feel The Love,” and has a reputation of connecting well with his audiences.

“The fans are an integral part of the experience of my live show, and I think they keep coming back primarily due to their love for the music I bring them,” O’Donnell said in a prepared statement. “I make the show fun by having conversations and talking to them on-stage, even joking around like old friends. I stay after every performance to meet everyone I can, and people know I’m very approachable.

“Those who have seen me perform multiple times know that variety and spontaneity is a key part of the show, too. My goal every time I step on-stage is to make sure the audience leaves entertained,” O’Donnell said. “I want to make people feel relaxed and at home with me and for a few hours anyway create an atmosphere that helps them leave their worries behind.”

Performing with O’Donnell at the 7 p.m. concert will be his longtime musical companion, Irish vocalist Mary Duff, as well as The Daniel O’Donnell Band.

Tickets to the June 3 concert are $85, $75, $65 and $55, and may be purchased by calling 775-3458 or at www.ticketmaster.com.
