PARIS – The nomination period for town elections opened Monday.

Six positions are up in the June elections. The three-year terms of Selectmen Ernest Fitts III and Raymond Glover expire this year.

SAD 17’s Board of Directors and the Paris Utility District each have two seats open. The SAD 17 positions are currently occupied by John Jenness Jr. and Mary Pietroski, while the utility district is served by Mark Bancroft and Peter Bickford.

Town Clerk Elizabeth Larson said nomination papers for the positions are available at the town office, which is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

In order to be put on the ballot, a candidate must gather not less than 25 and no more than 100 signatures. The deadline to submit papers is April 28.
