LEWISTON – This week’s results from the Maine Table Tennis League at Lewiston Armory:

A Table: Sonu Bhatia, Guy Boisse; B Table: Norm Berube, Mike DeBlois; C Table: Dick Harris, Rick Paul. Players of the Week: Sonu Bhatia and Norm Berube.

The league wishes to thank all players who volunteered and participated in helping work on new “flooring” for Table #1 (the green table). More than 40,000 rubber inserts were applied during the process.

Upcoming events:

April 14 – ‘B’ tournament and ‘C’ tournament. No ‘A’ players will be allowed to play while the tournament is in progress. After the tournament is over, ‘A’ players may practice if they wish. Trophies will be handed out to the winners and runner-ups of each division, and the names will be inscribed on the League of Champions plaque.

April 21 – In-House Open, with all divisions allowed to participate.

April 28 – Doubles tournament. Players are allowed to pick their own partner ahead of time. For those who do not have a partner, one will be assigned to you if you care to join the fun.

May 5 – Last Monday of regular league play.

May 10 – Maine Spring Open, held in the Armory gymnasium.

Sign-up sheets are available in the league office or online at www.mainetabletennisleague.com. This event is a costly one for the League, so participation by members is strongly encouraged.

Please note, starting May 14, the league will only practice/play every Wednesday until further notice. Regular play resumes next September. Wednesday hours will be 6 to 8:30 p.m.
