AUBURN – Photographer Jim Walker is showing more than a dozen warm weather images of mocking birds, loons and ducks splashing about in the Art & Ale Window at Gritty McDuff’s.

His photographs will remain in the display window through April 17, courtesy of a partnership between Gritty’s and L/A Arts.

An award-winning photographer, Walker has lived in Auburn for the past 17 years. His interest in photography developed when he bought his first 35mm camera in Korea in 1966. Since then, he has lived, and traveled extensively, in the United States, Europe and the Middle East.

His travels have provided opportunities to photograph many exotic and beautiful places. Currently, his portfolio consists of travel photos, as well as images of nature and birds, seascapes and landscapes. He also enjoys photojournalism and has photographed President Bush’s twin daughters, Barbara and Jenna, as well as former President George H.W. Bush and former First Lady Barbara Bush.

Other photographs taken by Walker can be viewed as part of the Art & Java display at Willy Beans Coffee Shop, Mill No. 6, on Lincoln Street, Lewiston, another visual arts outreach by L/A Arts. Additionally, his work can be viewed at his Web site, www.jimwalkerphotography.com.

Gritty’s is in the downtown at the corner of Main and Court streets. For more information, call L/A Arts at 782-7228; or log on to www.laarts.org.
