MEXICO – A warrant for the arrest of Erik Mickeriz, 39, of Howard Street in Mexico was issued Friday morning by Mexico police. He’s being charged with reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon, domestic assault and robbery.

Police believe Mickeriz was driving south toward Portland on Friday and other law enforcement agencies were notified to look for him.

Police Sgt. Roy Hodsdon said the arrest warrant was issued because Mickeriz is believed to have used an ax to break the driver’s side window of his ex-girlfriend’s late model Saturn station wagon at about 10:30 a.m. Friday as she was leaving his home. Both the woman and the 4-year-old son she has with Mickeriz were in the car at the time. Neither were hurt when the glass was smashed, Hodsdon said.

Mickeriz is also accused of stealing the woman’s purse.

Hodsdon described Mickeriz as a white male, about 5-foot-11, weighing about 160 pounds.
