Friends on a Mission Youth Group, based out of the United Baptist Church of Peru, spent 30 hours on March 7 and 8 fasting to raise money for hungry children worldwide through World Vision. The 14 teens spent most of that time doing service projects, beginning with painting the River Valley Healthy Communities Coalition’s Teen Center located in the basement of the Mexico Rec Center. To date, the teens have raised enough money to feed six children for a year, and donations have not yet been fully collected.
