PARIS – A 48-year-old Waterford man pleaded not guilty Friday to charges of breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s trailer and threatening her with a firearm.

Richard P. Sankolewicz of 1135 Waterford Road was indicted in February on charges of burglary, criminal threatening and assault.

According to an affidavit by Deputy Michael Halacy of the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office, Sankolewicz had recently broken up with the woman and moved out of the residence. She accused Sankolewicz of forcing his way into the trailer, and on one occasion brandishing a 9 mm semiautomatic handgun and pointing the weapon at her.

Sankolewicz is also accused of ripping a necklace off the woman, pushing her into a chair, throwing a flashlight at her head, and threatening to burn down the trailer.

According to the affidavit, Sankolewicz said he showed the woman the gun but did not threaten her with it.
