SABATTUS – Rita A. Cook, 75, a resident of Furbush Road, Sabattus, died Thursday, April 3, at her home, with her family at her side.

She was born May 5, 1932, in Lewiston, the daughter of Albert and Cecile Gravel Gauthier. She attended school in Lewiston. On Sept. 1, 1951, in Lewiston, she and Dale G. Cook were married. She worked as a certified nursing assistant, a med tech and also owned and operated a boarding home in Sabattus.

She was a big gambler; she loved to go to Hollywood Slots in Bangor and also loved to play bingo. She enjoyed going to the local fairs in the area, really liked to go camping and fishing. One of her best buddies was her beloved dog “Daisy Mae.”

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Dale Cook Sr.; her sons, Dale Cook Jr., and his wife, Debbie, of Litchfield, Daniel Cook and his wife, Tina, of Sabattus, Raymond Gauthier, and his wife, HaeSeon, of Key West, Fla., and Daniel Gauthier, and his wife, Becky, of Cheyenne, Wyo.; her daughters, Gloria Goulet and her husband, Bertrand, of Sabattus and Jeannine Jones and her husband, Harold, of Monmouth; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters; two brothers; and a very special friend, Clara Parker of Sabattus.

She was predeceased by her parents; and a brother.
