AUBURN – The New Auburn Seniors will have a beef stew dinner at noon Wednesday, April 16, in the St. Louis Church basement hall. Cost is $4 and it is for members only.
A meeting was held April 1 with Virginia Levasseur, president, presiding. April birthdays were noted and token gifts were given. Trips being offered are a Swing into Spring dinner show in Middleton, Mass., for $65 April 17, and a six-day trip to Washington, D.C., May 15 through 20. Call Jean for more information at 784-5264.
Pot of gold winners were Lorraine Poirer, Bette Pelletier, Tony Arel and Jeannette Cote. New members welcomed were Robert St. Ongre, Rita St. Onge, Cecile Roy, Loretta Dionne, Helen Marsh, Ted Marsh, Robert Robichaud, Bob Sutton, Jeannette Sutton, Pauline Gemme, Irene Breton, J. Eddie Breton, Guy Dube, Sandy Verrill, Gert Bailey and Floret Morin.
The dinners have increased from $3 to $4 except for Easter, Thanksgiving, and the June dinners, which will be $5. Lunches have increased from $1 to $2 due to the increased cost of food.
A May 2 and 3 yard sale is planned. Members seek clean, good items except for clothes and baked goods. Call Ginger at 783-0273. Open bingo for seniors 60 and over will be held April 9, 23 and 30. The meeting was adjourned and a light lunch was served, with bingo following.
