AUBURN – Humorist Travis Wallace, a Moosehead area native well known throughout New England for his clean comedy, will return to Maine Saturday, April 12, for a performance at the Fireside Inn & Convention Center.

Over the winter, he has headlined at theaters from northern Maine to western Massachusetts. He will be in Auburn to record his fourth humor CD, due to hit stores in mid-May. The disc will be titled “Don’t Shoot! I’m a Local!” and will contain some of the comedy routines and stories he has performed over the past few months.

“I’ve got all this material I’ve never put on a CD and I’m really looking forward to recording it in Auburn because I’ve gotten such good receptions from audiences there over the years,” said Wallace. “It’s always fun to go back. Plus, they’re going to give me a free hotel room overlooking the Irving next-door. I mean, how can I say no?”

“Travis has really found a unique niche as he’s developed his act over the years. He’s somehow managed to combine improv and storytelling and stand-up comedy – and the product is unlike anything else out there. He’ll even do some one-man sketch comedy occasionally,” said fellow comedian Dave Rattigan, Wallace’s friend and agent.

“Audiences love it because it’s regional humor,” added Rattigan. “I’ve seen him perform in front of people ranging in age from 18 to over 80, and he’s one of a very few who can do that and do it successfully.”

The show will begin at 8 p.m. Doors open at 7:15 p.m. Tickets are $16, $12 for seniors and students. Because this will be a live recording, seating is limited. To reserve, call 777-1777. The Fireside Inn is at 1777 Washington St.
