LEWISTON – The electric guitar duo of Jim Weider and Mitch Stein will play at 8 p.m. Friday, April 18, at The Maple Room.

Weider blends rock and blues with funk and jazz grooves, combining modern drum loops and samples to produce melodic ballads. A former member of the legendary group The Band, he is a master of the classic telecaster guitar and is renowned for his rock and blues-based signature sound.

Weider has been featured on numerous albums and has made appearances in films, videos and on television. Highlights include a 1990 performance with The Band and Ronnie Hawkins at The Berlin Wall concert produced by Roger Waters of Pink Floyd; several cable TV specials, most notably the “The Bob Dylan Tribute” at Madison Square Garden; “The Road,” a 1994 pay-per-view concert telecast from the Woodstock ’94 Festival; and a 1995 appearance on the A&E Biography documentary “The Authorized Video Biography The Band.”

At The Maple Room, Weider and Stein will perform songs from “PERCoLAToR,” “Remedy” and “Bigfoot” CDs as well as songs composed by Stein.
