LISBON – The total municipal budget to be presented at Monday’s public hearing is $7,413,934, which is $279,387 more than last year, but 6.9 percent less than originally submitted. The councilors cut their own stipends by 5 percent. Capital improvements include $170,000 to replace a public works truck, $40,000 for a solid waste container/trailer, $43,914 for computer upgrades, and $100,000 is being recommended to upgrade the MTM Center. Other cuts in finance were achieved by realignment and movement of expense lines, eliminating one full-time clerk in the tax collector’s office, two part-time recreation positions, and six per diem firefighter positions.
