PARIS – A 30-year-old Rumford man pleaded not guilty Monday to charges of arson and theft in the torching of a pickup truck last year.
Henry Ross of Virgin Street is accused of setting fire to his 1997 Chevrolet pickup and leaving it in the woods in Greenwood in March 2007. The theft charge states that Ross used the incident to deceive the Progressive Insurance Co. and collect more than $10,000 in insurance.
Edward T. Vidito, 46, also of Virgin Street, pleaded not guilty to a single count of arson on March 27 in connection with the same case. Both men are free on personal recognizance bail and forbidden to have contact with each other.
