BYRON – A public hearing on several proposed articles for a special town meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 1, in the Coos Canyon Schoolhouse off Route 17.
Voters will be asked to authorize selectmen to enter into a second 10-year extension and second renewal term with Mexico-based Med-Care Ambulance Service. That was supposed to have been done at the March town meeting, but due to an oversight, it was omitted from the warrant.
The remaining five articles deal with ordinances.
Article 4 seeks to establish a wind turbine project development moratorium ordinance.
Articles 5 and 6 appear to be related; 5 would enact an ordinance to amend last year’s commercial campground ordinance, and 6 would establish an ordinance banning development of new – or the expansion of existing – commercial campgrounds, commercial RV parks and commercial seasonal trailer parks.
The last article seeks to enact a planning board of appeals ordinance.
