LEWISTON – Thinking about a career change? Not sure about what job would best suit your needs? The Lewiston Career Center will hold a two-part workshop, Career Decision Making, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 5, with a follow-up session from 9 a.m. to noon May 9. The workshop will be offered again from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 19, with follow-up from 9 a.m. to noon May 23.
The workshop explores the different factors that affect career decisions; helps people identify interests, aptitudes and experience; discusses the tools available to research education and labor market information; and guides people in developing a career plan. Résumé Basics will be offered May 8 and again on May 22, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Those attending will explore the basics of résumés and applications, and learn what can make a résumé or application stand out. Registration is required.
“Interview Skills” will be offered May 8 or May 22, from 12:30 to 3 p.m. Learn how to prepare yourself for a successful job interview. Learn to promote the qualifications you have that directly match what the employer needs. Be prepared for the “tough” questions and answer them with confidence. Obtain tips on how to dress and what to take with you to the interview. Registration is required.
Job Search Skills will be offered May 15 or May 29 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Learn how to do an effective job search. Those attending will explore how employer’s hire, and methods to use in a job search that can lead to success. Registration is required.

On-Line Applications on Fridays from 2 to 3 p.m., featuring hands-on experience in filling out online applications. Registration is required.
CareerCenter and Job Search Orientation is offered every Wednesday from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Find out what services and resources the Lewiston CareerCenter has to offer folks newly unemployed or looking for a new career. The presentation will give attendees an overview of resources available if looking for work. Those attending will also become registered for the CareerCenter job matching system. Registration is required.
CareerCenter Employment and Training Orientation is offered two times a week. Inquire at the Information Center for the schedule. This program provides an orientation to the Lewiston CareerCenter and its training programs. Registration is required.
The Job Club is available those who wish to expand a network of contacts, but also serves as a support group. Registration required. Call 753-9036.
A higher education adviser is available every Tuesday from noon to 2 p.m. to talk about options for attending college. She will help you explore college choices based on interests and career goals; she will also talk about financial aid to make college a reality. Registration not required.
