• Tiffany J. Dow, 19, Mexico, warrant charging failure to appear on charge of operating after suspension, turned herself in at the police station and was arrested at 3:40 p.m. May 7. She was released on $250 cash bail. An arraignment date has yet to be set in Rumford District Court.

Accidents

• May 4, 1:06 p.m. – A 1994 Oldsmobile operated by June Roy, 45, of Rumford, sustained an estimated $3,500 in damage when police say she drove the car ahead to get closer to a fuel pump in the parking lot of Exxon Food Trend convenience store and gas station on Bridge Street.

Officer Lawrence Winson said Thursday afternoon that Roy left her leg extended out between her open door and the car frame, so that when the side of the car struck the concrete barrier protecting the fuel pumps, her leg was pinned.

People fueling their vehicles came to Roy’s aid and pushed her car back to free her leg. Roy was then taken by Med-Care Ambulance to Rumford Hospital where she was treated for a bruised knee, Winson said.
