Vandalism

• A third person was summoned March 20 in connection with a vandalism incident at Dirigo High School on Aug. 15, 2007. Chief Richard Pickett said a 17-year-old Dixfield boy faces a charge of writing graffiti on an exterior high school wall on June 5. Two other people charged with the same incident, Barbara Sylvester, 18, Peru, and Randi Marston, 19, Mexico, have already appeared in court.

• Three 12- and 13-year-old boys, two from Peru and one from Dixfield, were assigned community service stemming from the vandalism of an Irving Forest Products sign at the company’s office complex on Hall Hill Road. Pickett said the approximately 3- by 4-foot wooden sign had been up for about an hour when the boys pelted it with rocks, causing about $100 damage. The boys were assigned to write an essay, and to perform cleanup work around the sign under the coordination of the boys’ parents, police and company manager. The incident occurred April 22.
