On Wednesday, May 21, eighth-grade students from the Carrie Ricker Middle School in Litchfield took part in a Forestry Day at Smithfield Plantation off Libby Road in Litchfield. They each had a chance to learn about plants and animals in their own habit. Sponsors of the event were Smithfield Plantation trustees, Cabela’s, Bates College, Harwood Center, and Litchfield Conservation Commission.
