Veterans of the first Androscoggin Challenge Triathlon will find familiar goings in the 1983 event. The first section of the event is the running, which begins at Kennedy Park in Lewiston and ends six miles later at Higgins Sport Center on North River Road in Auburn. From there, the canoe teams will paddle a 7-mile course consisting of two circuits up and down river, ending back at Higgins. The baton is then passed to the cyclist, whose 25.3 mile course runs around Taylor Pond then back around Lake Auburn before returning across the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Bridge back to Kennedy Park.
