Memorial stones like these honoring Mexico residents who served their country, and space in the town’s Veterans Memorial Green are still available, according to Town Clerk Penny Duguay. People interested in honoring family members or ancestors in the military or wars – whether it be the Civil War or the war in Iraq – can visit or call the town office at 364-7971 for a veteran’s-stone application and more information. More than a few hundred stones have been engraved and placed since World War II veteran Norbert Gallant began the project five years ago.
