LEWISTON – The Lewiston High School Music Association will present the second annual Blue Devil Pops at 7 p.m. Friday, May 30, at the Lewiston Middle School auditorium.
The concert offers Lewiston High School’s vocal and instrumental students, individually and in groups, an opportunity to showcase their talents backed by live musicians. The evening’s repertoire is influenced by the music of the Beatles and will feature many classic tunes written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, including, “Imagine,” “Eleanor Rigby,” “Twist and Shout” and “We Can Work It Out.”
Also taking the stage will be the Lewiston High School Concert Band, under the direction of LHS Band Director Tim Ebersold. The Men’s Choir, the Women’s Chorale, the Concert Choir and Diaboli Musicae, all directed by Rebecca Poppke, will perform as well. Poppke is the concert’s artistic director. The evening’s program also includes LHS students performing original compositions as well as other favorite selections.
Master of Ceremonies for the evening will be Jim Handy. The show producer is Katy Bouchard. Courtney Babbidge is the music arranger.
Members of the House Combo are Courtney Babbidge on piano; Linda Vaillancourt and Hannah Rodrigue on strings; Ray Goulet on guitar and acoustic bass; Tim Ebersold and Jon Schomaker on saxophone; Ando Orr on bass; and Chris Dzengelewski on drums.
Admission is $10 at the door on the evening on the concert. All proceeds from the concert will benefit music programs at LHS.
