LEWISTON – The Grains and Grapes Festival, central Maine’s first brew fest, has announced local bands ForeFront and Dirty McGurdy’s will perform at the June 21 event.

“The festival has a very ‘think local’ theme with local L-A bands and restaurants participating. It reinforces our early decision to admit only Maine breweries and wineries,” said Chip Morrison, president of the Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce, which is helping to organize the event.

Set at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee, the Maine Grains and Grapes Festival will feature at least 11 breweries and six wineries, all from Maine. Festival-goers (all must be 21 years old or older) will get 10 tickets, each good for one 4-ounce sample of beer or one 2-ounce sample of wine. An Auburn Dunkin’ Donuts will provide free coffee. Local restaurants – Heidi’s Brooklyn Deli, Gritty McDuff’s Pub, South of the Border Mexican Restaurant and Za’ Pizza – will sell food.

Grains and Grapes will be offered in two sessions. Doors open to the first session at 1:30 p.m. and the second session begins at 6:30 p.m. Each session is three and half hours long.

Advance tickets are $20 per person or $25 per person at the door. Tickets for designated drivers (non-drinkers) will be $10.

Tickets may be purchased at the Colisee box office, online at www.thecolisee.com or by calling 1-877-468-4946. Fees apply to online and phone orders.
