FARMINGTON – Farmington police have arrested three Farmington teens and charged one juvenile in connection with the theft of the Mt. Blue High School mascot.
Mt. Blue student Tyler Morris, 18, and former student Graham Taber, 19, were arrested Thursday on a charge of burglary, and student Timothy Poulson, 18, was arrested Friday, also on a charge of burglary, police officer Bridgette L. Gilbert said.
A 17-year-old student from Farmington was also charged with burglary in the incident that occurred at 2:20 a.m. Sunday.
Parts of a chain-saw-carved cougar mascot the Class of 2007 gave to the school as a gift were taken along with food and clothing, she said.
Damage was also done in an administrator’s office.
The remainder of the cougar was taken Monday when the building was entered again, the officer said.
Morris was released on $500 cash bail Thursday evening while Taber appeared in court Friday and was released on personal recognizance, a jail intake officer said. Poulson also bailed on $500 cash, an official said.
The investigation was a joint effort among the Farmington Police Department and Mt. Blue High School administrators, SAD 9 technology personnel, maintenance and other staff members, she said.
