BUCKFIELD – An 18-year-old driver escaped a rollover crash on Route 117 with minor injuries, according to State Police Trooper Thomas Pappas.

Pappas said Krista Johnson of Turner was heading east on Route 117 not far from Roundabout Road on Monday afternoon when she lost control of her 2000 Chevrolet Blazer. The area is near where a fatal crash took place last week involving a pony cart and a pickup truck.

“It appears that she hit the dirt shoulder and then overcorrected,” Pappas said. “I don’t believe speed or alcohol were factors.”

The SUV rolled over onto its roof landing in a ditch, Pappas said.

The vehicle was totaled in the mishap, and Johnson was treated and released at the scene. Along with Pappas, Turner Fire and Rescue responded to the crash.
