WEST PARIS – The town will be hopping with activities this weekend as it celebrates its annual Old Home Days.

The event is held in conjunction with the West Paris High School reunion and banquet and provides fun and food for local residents and guests from far and wide.

Starting Friday, June 13, there will be a flag raising ceremony at 4 p.m. on Kingsbury Street, followed by the opening of the midway next to the town office. The midway will remain open through late Sunday afternoon.

There are craft fairs, fireworks, displays of antique cars and a motorcycle show planned. Also there will be musical programs, open houses in community buildings such as the town library, Baptist and Universalist churches and the West Paris Historical Society.

Food booths will be open throughout the weekend along the midway. A supper will be served by the Historical Society at 5:30 p.m. on Friday at the Historical Society’s building on Main Street. Saturday a breakfast put on by the Snowmobile Club begins at 8 a.m. on Kingsbury Street near the town office. A spaghetti luncheon hosted by the West Paris Athletic Association starts at 12 p.m. Saturday at the West Paris Fire Station.

Other activities include a pie-eating contest, sack races, beano, a library yard sale, soap box derby racing and more.

The Grand Parade begins at Pioneer Street at 10 a.m. Saturday.

The Alumni Association reunion and banquet will be held starting at 5 p.m. Saturday in the gymnasium at the Agnes Gray School with the Class of 1958 being honored this year.
