HUDSON, N.H. (AP) -New Hampshire police say a planned protest by a New England-based white pride group is legal as long as picketers don’t interfere with traffic.

Northeast White Pride is holding a “Close the Border” demonstration in Hudson on Saturday. They intend to protest illegal immigration.

Group member Rob O’Donovan, of Haverhill, Mass., says the demonstration is being held in Hudson to avoid antagonizing immigrants in Nashua. Organizers say the increase in Hispanic immigrants in Nashua has led to more graffiti, crime and drugs.

Police Chief Richard Gendron says police will patrol the area and he doesn’t foresee any problems. The same group demonstrated in Hudson two years ago.
