This is in response to Mark Tardif’s letter, printed July 3.

Where do I start? Tardif said President Clinton effectively fought terrorism. Oh, yes, fire two Tomahawk missiles and call it a day.

Very effective, indeed.

As far as the Iraq war goes, let’s pull out and see who takes over.

I would much rather fight there than here, that’s for sure.

So far, no other attacks – not bad at all, if you ask me.

Let’s go to the next thing – Republicans are to blame for the oil crisis. I almost lost my coffee on that one.

Tardif is right, Republicans did control the Congress for two years. How long have the Democrats been in charge? Let me think now, I dare say, 56 out of my 58 years on this Earth.

How soon we forget President Carter and those gas lines.

Tardif said the Republican ideology is the few over the many. I think he has that backward – it’s the need of the many outweigh the needs of the few.

The Democrats are the ones who have stopped the nation from becoming energy efficient, along with their environmentalist friends. So there is no new drilling, no power plants.

People should watch or read the news, every night. Then they will know who is fighting for the needs of the many and who is fighting for the needs of the few.
