LEWISTON – Artwork by 47 adults and children, all students of local art teacher Mercedes Gastonguay, will be featured in an annual exhibition in the Atrium Art Gallery at the University of Southern Maine’s Lewiston-Auburn College.

The exhibition of oils, ink and pencil drawings, pastels and watercolors will have an opening reception from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, July 18, and continue through Aug. 17.

Students work from still lifes in the studio, on-location landscapes, photographs and works by well-known artists. The exhibition includes portraits, landscapes, still lifes, wildlife studies, seascapes and floral studies.

Students in the exhibit are Lizzie Aguilar, Ashley Beaucage, Megan Beliveau, Victoria Beliveau, Lauren Belleau, Samuel Blaisdell, Ronald Bosse, Andrew Butler, Michael Butler, Sue Caron, Dean Clavet, Kristen Cornelio, Kristina Cornelio, Anna Marie Cote, Nicholas David, Alyssa Desjardins, Janet DuBois, Selia Dubois, Avery Gagnon, Caroline Gastonguay, Olivia Grimmer, Zackary Gray, Daniel Heutz, Mercedes Howes, Alexa Kesaris, Lorraine Lamare, Kayla Larrivee, Anya Lee, Eisa Lee, Marie Marquis, Claire Metivier, T. J. Morin, Mariette Paré, Sarah Patrie, Katie Philbrick, Abigail Pleau, Abby Potvin, Max Poulin, Patricia Poulin, Bernadette Racine, Jette Rasmussen, Colleen Rioux, John Van Dyke. Johnathan Warner, Brian Watko, Alexandria Wilson and Tawni Zamrock.

Speakers at the reception include State Sen. Peggy Rotundo and Marvin Druker, dean of L-A College. Muriel Schwinn will perform original compositions on the piano.The Edward Little Music Association will provide beverages.

L-A College is at 51 Westminster St. Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday.
