For No Name, No Town looking for iPod repair: Please note that Flexible Business Systems, Inc. only repairs Apple computers and does not service iPods. Thanks to a phone call from another reader, the only option seems to be to send your iPod to the company for repair. Call 1-800-APL-CARE (1-800-275-2273) to contact Apple support for more information. If it is still under warranty, contact your local Radio Shack; and if you bought the iPod at Best Buy, their “Geek Squad” service center may be able to help you with your repairs.

Dear Sun Spots: Do you know if there are any places where you can pay to pick blackberries? I know of places where you can pick raspberries and blueberries, but not blackberries. Thanks. – Sue, Lewiston.

Answer: Unfortunately, our search has proven unsuccessful. There are plenty of places to pick your own strawberries, blueberries, apples and raspberries. We urge anyone who knows of any pick your own blackberry farms to contact the column.

Dear Sun Spots: I want to thank Sun Spots readers for their help in the past in supporting Turner Elementary School. Even though it is summer we are still collecting Box Tops 4 Education to raise money for our school. If any readers have some they would like to donate they can be mailed to me Laurie Labbe, 5 Brookfield Estates, Turner, Maine 04282. – Laurie Labbe, Turner.

Dear Sun Spots: We’ve had success in finding the help our family has needed through Sunspots before and greatly appreciate the availability you provide to the community. We have a garage (separate from the house) that I’ve attempted to convert into a “teen den,” with a space for arts and crafts as well as a space for them to play guitars, sing karaoke, etc. My children have enjoyed entertaining their friends in their own space, but I’m concerned about the safety of the building as the front beam that holds up the load-bearing wall is rotted and the building is starting to sag.

I’m a single mom of five children on an extremely limited budget, but I still would like to try to provide them with space other than their small bedrooms (that are shared with siblings) to entertain friends here, since I can’t afford to take them to the beach, etc.

Is there anyone out there who knows how to jack-up a building? I normally try to make all home repairs on my own, but this is beyond my capabilities.

I also have water that continually comes into my basement through a drain hole that I’ve attempted to fill in with hydraulic concrete, but the water still seeps in and eventually forms a pond in the basement. Does anyone have any idea how I can resolve this issue. My concern here is the mold that forms because of the moisture the water creates (and yes, I do keep a de-humidifier running at all times).

I would appreciate any assistance or advice that readers can offer. Please call at 786-9750 with any information. Thanks. – Overwhelmed Mom, No Town.
