POLAND – The Mollyocket Chorus, a group of women singers from southwestern Maine, will perform at 7 p.m. Monday, July 21, at the All Souls Chapel, as part of the Poland Spring Preservation Society’s summer concert series.

A chapter of Sweet Adelines International, the Mollyocket Chorus sings barbershop-style a cappella harmony in four parts: tenor, lead, baritone and bass. This style of music lends itself to a wide variety of up-tunes and ballads from any era, including today’s show tunes.

The program will include an original humorous song, “You Know You’re From Maine,” which extols some local customs and idiosyncrasies.

For more information about Mollyocket, contact chorus director Pat Fleck at 647-5005 or sadirector@roadrunner.com or president Jolan Ippolito at 364-4102 or jolanippolito@gmail.com.

The summer concert series runs every Monday night from June 16 to Aug. 25. Proceeds benefit the preservation of the Maine State Building and All Souls Chapel. Tickets, $5, are sold at the door. For more information, call 998-4142.
