Grange supper

BETHEL – A public supper will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 26, at Alder River Grange, East Bethel. Menu will include oven-fried chicken, coleslaw, salad and homemade dessert. Cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children under 13.

Chinese auction

RUMFORD – A Chinese auction, to benefit Steven Ellis, recently diagnosed with lung cancer, will be held on Saturday, Aug. 9, at the Eagles Club, Oxford Avenue.

Doors will open at 3 p.m., with drawings starting at 5 p.m. Raffle tickets are on sale and winners will be drawn at the auction. Donations are being sought. They may be mailed to Carolyn Payeur, P.O.
