WILTON – The Foothills Arts Center invites children ages 3 to 9 to sign up for classes and workshops at the region’s new community arts center in the historic Bass building in downtown Wilton.

A variety of options are available so that people can choose one or two one-hour classes or five-day programs. The classes for ages 3 to 5 are designed for an adult to attend and participate along with the child.

The featured classes for the week of July 28 will be Adventures in Colors and Shapes, ages 3 and up; The Greatest Show on Earth (singing, art, and clowning), grades one and two; On the Hunt for Dinosaurs (science, art and theater) and Mask Self-Portraits, grades three and four.

During the week of Aug. 4, the classes will be Finding the Fantasy (2-D and 3-D art) and Under-the-Sea Puppet World, grades one and two; Fantasy Figures (drawing), grades three and four. The grades listed refer to the grade that a child is entering in the fall.

The Foothills teachers are professional artist-teachers who enjoy sharing their ideas and talents with people of all levels of experience. They create a supportive, relaxed atmosphere in which they encourage creative thinking.

For details about the classes and to be put on the mailing list for fall classes for children and adults, contact the Foothills Arts Center at 645-7117 or [email protected]. Registrations need to be received several days before a class starts.
