PORTLAND – O.A.R. is gearing up to hit the road this summer in support of its recently released studio album, “All Sides,” with the tour including a stop Sept. 11 at Merrill Auditorium.

Tickets go on sale at noon Friday, July 25. Tickets for reserved seating are $30 in advance, $32.50 day of show. They are available at PortTix at 20 Myrtle St., by calling 842-0800 and online at www.porttix.com and www.livenation.com.

“All Sides” is O.A.R.’s first new studio album since 2005’s popular breakthrough, “Stories Of A Stranger,” which included the band’s hit singles “Love and Memories” and “Heard The World” as well as mtvU’s Most Downloaded Video of 2006, “Lay Down.”

Formed in 1996, O.A.R. includes Marc Roberge, vocals, electric and acoustic guitar; Richard On, electric guitar and background vocals; Jerry DePizzo, saxophone; Benj Gershman, bass; and Chris Culos, drums. Together, they have blazed a unique grassroots trail across America, revealing their compelling musical vision through near-constant touring.

With its distinct sound and introspective, heartfelt lyricism, the band has earned a fervent following from coast to coast. It is that following that allowed the band to sell out concerts at Madison Square Garden – twice. The second time around, the group captured its concert on 2007’s two-CD set, “Live From Madison Square Garden,” as well as a two-disc DVD package with the same name. By the time the band reached its 10-year anniversary, it sold more than 1.2 million albums.

Special guest at the Sept. 11 concert will be Parker House & Theory.
