SOUTH PORTLAND – Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Road, has named Ed McAllister, a licensed funeral attendant, to its staff.
McAllister recently completed 10 years of active duty with the U.S. Navy. He has had previous part-time experience working at two other funeral homes. He was an aviation electronics technician with the Navy, where he was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal. He holds two associate degrees, one from Central Maine Community College in automotive technology and one from Park University in Missouri in criminal justice.
He plans to attend mortuary science school in the fall to become a licensed funeral director.
His duties at Hobbs will include administration, assisting with funerals, groundskeeping and other functions.
He and his wife make their home in South Paris, and have two sons.
