SEBAGO – The Schoolhouse Arts Center will present Disney’s “Sleeping Beauty Kids” Aug. 1, 2 and 3. The play is based on the 1959 Disney film “Sleeping Beauty” and the story “Sleeping Beauty in the Wood” by Charles Perrault.

The show is directed by Ben Potvin and performed by Schoolhouse’s summer musical theater students.

It’s Princess Aurora’s 16h birthday, and Flora, Fauna and Merryweather must use their fairy magic to save her from the spell of evil sorceress Maleficent. This classic fairy tale told Disney-style has many entertaining characters from King Stefan and Queen Stefanie and their loyal subjects to Maleficent and her slimy Goons. Music highlights include the classic song “Once Upon a Dream” and fun new numbers like “Goon Conga” and “Let’s Have Some Magic Now.”

Performance are at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 1; at 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Aug. 2; and at 2 p.m. Aug. 3. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for students and seniors. Call 642-3743 for reservations. Schoolhouse Arts Center is on Route 114, just north of Routes 114 and 35.
