Central Maine Federal Credit Union has donated $1,000 to the Abused Women’s Advocacy Project. The primary purpose of AWAP is to provide emergency housing and supportive services to those individuals attempting to escape a violent home environment. AWAP has been operating a shelter in the Lewiston/Auburn area for 30 years. Kathryn Williams Palmer, left, executive director of AWAP, accepted the donation from Vicki L. Stuart, CEO of Central Maine FCU.
