PARIS – The Paris Public Library’s annual used book sale will continue from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, at the former Paris Farmers’ Union, Skillings Avenue, South Paris.

Recent donations helped restock the supply of books. The library accepts donations year-round. Proceeds are earmarked for purchasing children’s books.

Hardcover and trade paperback books sell for $1 each; children’s hardcover books, 50 cents; and mass market and children paperback books, 25 cents.

The sale will conclude on Saturday, Aug. 9, with a bag sale.

The library is also soliciting contributions toward matching two pledges for restoring the staff position the library recently lost from an appropriation freeze by the municipality.

Two individuals, reading recent newspaper reports, recently offered a total of $750 to the library if it could raise the additional $1,250 necessary to save the staff position. Contributions have raised $375 to date.
