TURNER – The Turner Natural History Club will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 31, at the clubhouse in Turner Center across from the Leavitt Institute campus.

The annual flower show will take place on Sunday, Aug. 24, at the clubhouse. Everyone is invited to enter the show and its categories are open to children and adults. Skill is not required. Call Bill Whitman at 225-3915 or e-mail [email protected] for a set of rules.

A successful garden tour was held on July 27. Six area gardens visited were those of Linwood Gilbert, Wendy Ramses, Peter Young, Edith Ellis, Darcy Shaw and Annette Leavitt. Plans and fine-tuning for next year’s tour are already under way.

The club has thousands of specimens of rocks, birds eggs, wood samples, seashells and a collection of sand from beaches all over the world. There is also an extensive natural library. The public is invited to visit the exhibits.
