POLAND – Gary Sredzienski, known as “The Accordion Warrior,” will perform Monday, Aug. 4, at All Souls Chapel. The 7 p.m. concert is part of the Poland Spring Preservation Society’s 2008 Summer Concert Series.

Sredzienski demonstrates the diversity of the piano accordion with a wide variety of styles played on several continents. He is an artist-in-residence and presents educational programs in New Hampshire schools on a regular basis. He began his professional career at age 9. The following year, he traveled around New England performing with a vaudeville act called The Hog Hollow Hooters.

Sredzienski’s solo recordings on his own Bellows Music label have landed him national performances with cultural organizations. In May of 2000, he represented New Hampshire in a performance at the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage. In July of that same year, he toured throughout Romania.

Besides playing for choral and dance groups, Sredzienski performs 1960s surf rock, traditional ethnic and his accordion compositions with The Serfs, a Portsmouth-based group.
